Building a Safe, Respectful, and Supportive Home
We believe that accountability and respect form the foundation of recovery — and our guidelines reflect that commitment.
1. Zero-Tolerance Substance Policy
Maintaining sobriety is the foundation of our home. To ensure that every resident has a safe and stable environment, we strictly prohibit the possession, use, or distribution of drugs, alcohol, or any mood-altering substances.
Regular or random drug and alcohol testing may be conducted to uphold the integrity of our community.
Any resident found in violation of this policy may be asked to leave the home to preserve the safety and well-being of others.
This policy isn’t about punishment — it’s about protection. We want every person here to have a fair chance at long-term recovery in an atmosphere free from temptation or harm.
2. Respectful Behavior
Our community is built on mutual respect, empathy, and kindness. Each resident deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported.
We expect all residents to treat fellow housemates, staff, and visitors with courtesy and understanding.
Disrespectful behavior such as bullying, aggression, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
We also encourage open and calm communication to resolve conflicts, with staff support available when needed.
Respecting boundaries, differences, and personal experiences allows our home to remain a peaceful and healing place for everyone.
3. Curfew and Accountability
Structure is a key part of recovery. To support a balanced lifestyle, we have designated curfew hours and daily routines.
These guidelines encourage healthy sleep habits, promote time management, and reduce exposure to high-risk situations.
Residents are expected to follow their curfew unless they’ve communicated with the house manager in advance.
Late arrivals, unapproved absences, or ongoing noncompliance may result in disciplinary action or discussion about fit for the home.
Following a structured schedule helps rebuild discipline and trust — both vital steps toward independent living.
4. Participation in Recovery Activities
Healing is an active process. Residents are strongly encouraged to participate in recovery-related activities such as support group meetings, therapy sessions, house meetings, or community service.
Active involvement helps strengthen accountability, reduce isolation, and create meaningful connections with others on the same path.
We understand that each recovery journey is unique, and our staff will help residents find the programs and activities that best support their goals.
This participation builds confidence, stability, and purpose — essential elements for long-term success.
5. Cleanliness and Shared Responsibility
A clean and organized living space contributes to mental clarity, self-respect, and mutual comfort.
Residents are expected to maintain their personal rooms, complete assigned chores, and keep common areas tidy and welcoming.
Shared spaces — such as the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms — are everyone’s responsibility.
Working together to maintain cleanliness promotes teamwork and pride in the home.
We believe that caring for your surroundings is a reflection of caring for yourself — a small but powerful part of recovery.
6. Visitors and Overnight Policy
Family and friends play an important role in the healing process, and we encourage healthy social connections.
However, to maintain safety and respect for all residents, visitors must be approved by the house manager and are only allowed during designated hours.
Visitors are expected to follow all house rules while on the property.
Overnight guests are not permitted, as our priority is to maintain a sober, peaceful, and distraction-free environment for all.
These guidelines help balance community connection with privacy and structure.
7. Confidentiality and Privacy
Privacy is a cornerstone of trust. We take every resident’s confidentiality seriously, and we expect all residents to do the same.
Personal information, stories, or experiences shared within the home should remain private and never be discussed outside the community.
This ensures that everyone feels safe to open up, share honestly, and grow without fear of judgment or exposure.
Our staff also adheres to strict confidentiality standards in compliance with all HIPAA and recovery program regulations.
8. Financial Responsibility
Recovery is about rebuilding life skills, including accountability and responsibility.
Each resident is responsible for paying their program fees or rent in full and on time.
We understand that financial challenges can arise, especially during early recovery.
If a resident experiences difficulty, we encourage open communication so our team can discuss solutions such as adjusted schedules or supportive resources.
Consistent responsibility in this area fosters independence and stability — key components of successful long-term recovery.
